Yokohama
Yokohama, the seat of the prefectural government, has grown as a major gateway of the sea to Japan, as well as the center of administration and economy for the whole prefecture.
Yokohama City has 4 main districts;
- Minato Mirai District 21
- An exciting emerging future city that is constantly evolving. One of Yokohama’s most nostalgic towns, Sakuragi-cho.
- China Town
- One of the world’s largest Chinatown. Yokohama is still prospering and developing since the opening of Yokohama Port.
- Motomachi / Yamate
- A trendy town of absolute discovery. Seek out the former foreign residential area at the foot of Yamate.
- Kan-nai / Yamashita Park
- The first town in Japan to experience Western culture. Yamashita-koen Park is a former 19th-century foreign residential area.
In addition to Yokohama, there are other well-known vital cities east of the prefecture, such as Kawasaki, one of the foremost industrial cities in Japan, and Yokosuka, an exotic fishing town.
